Synopsis

Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island, dreams of getting his favourite musical duo, Mortimer-McGwyer (Carey Mulligan and Tom Basden), back together. His fantasy quickly turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.

Engaging & amusing
Engaging and unusual story which was both poignant and humorous. The characters were skilfully portrayed, especially by the two central actors. I absolutely LOVED this film and can’t understand why it didn’t win an award.
First 45mins had predictable, not funny jokes. From then on in, the storyline deepened and it was really enjoyable. Loved the music and the scenary.

Wonderful scenery.
The film was well made and acted but just not my sort of film! Cringingly embarrassing, gauche characters make me feel uncomfortable rather than amused. Most people seemed to enjoy it though
Not quite what we expected, however, a clever script that highlighted loss and loneliness. Good music and a beautiful setting. Overall very enjoyable and entertaining.
